Painting #64 White Sands Watercolor

Ever wished you could go sledding in the middle of the summer? Or, if you’re like me, you love snow but hate the cold. I’ve got the perfect place for you. White Sands, New Mexico. Unlike anything you’ve ever seen before, rolling hills (literally) of sparkling white SAND! The dunes move from west to east as much as thirty feet per year. I’ve heard they’re a ton of fun to jump, roll, ski, run, or glide (good luck with that one) down. I guess you could even make a sand angel!
If you’re not into getting all sandy you could just float above it all in a huge colorful hot air balloon… What a totally peaceful way to spend your morning… gliding into the sunrise.

In celebration of this natural phenomenon, I’ve painted a very impressionistic watercolor, capturing the huge sky, the White Sands, and the lonely (but highly flamboyant) balloon. It’s an 8x10 watercolor, on high quality watercolor paper.

Check back tomorrow for painting #65 and photographs of cute babies! We’re going on a picnic play days tomorrow, so of course, there will be photogenic moments. Hold your breath!

In the mean time, check out my Etsy Shop for lovely paintings and original prints!
