Painting #15 Nature Trail Watercolor

Finally! We are home after a short, but very tiring, trip to Ohio. It was so good to sleep in my own bed last night… and I got to sleep in! Getting back in to the “swing” of things is going to take at least one more day. I’m so worn out physically and emotionally. Annalisa has been such a good baby! You would never guess that she spent over 35 hours in the car over the last couple days. What a perfect baby I have! I am sorry I don’t have any photographs from the trip to post. It wasn’t really one I want to remember. I did however, see many, many miles of lovely landscapes! I took several snapshots with my phone. We’ll see if any of them hit the drawing board.
This painting was very refreshing to paint. I painted it while instructing my students on “the art of watercolor” So you better think it’s good or I’ll feel sorry for my students and start to rethink my ability to teach! ; ) Not really. I love teaching to much to give it up that easily.

It is a watercolor of some branches I saw on a walk with my husband (hence the name "Nature Trail"). I love their shape and all the subtle colors each leaf held. I love the effects I get with watercolor paints. I think of each different shade as a little shape, then stack all the shapes in layers of colors. It’s a lot of fun. This is a 9x11 inch painting on fine watercolor paper. And, because this is day 15, it is only $15! If you would like to buy this painting, please visit my Etsy shop! EmilyJeffords.etsy.com

I would love any comments you may have! Check back tomorrow for painting #16!
