I love living in the South. It's just a wonderful place to live! Greenville is especially wonderful. Dan and I ran downtown after working in the yard all afternoon. We were just going to grab some pizza and go home... but we got swept away is the energy of the night; perfect weather, great food (not pizza after all), lovely scenery, and wonderful company.

I also love pink, and flowers, and white, and grey, and layers, and shades, and petals, and red, and leaves, and paintings. So, I combined them all into a regal portrait of a peony. I know I just did one of these, but a sweet lady asked me to paint a peony similar to "Blush" which was painted on wood, but larger, and on a flatter surface. I'm honored to do so!

It's birthday season, wedding season, and baby season (everyone is having babies all of the sudden!)  With all these dear events happening, stop by my shop to pick out a special gift for a special person!
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Paitning #44 Green Days

Do you ever have one of those days when you don't really feel much of anything? Maybe you get up a little too late, or too early, or maybe things at work are just going - no ups, or downs, or maybe yesterday was to exciting and today can't compare.... whatever the reason, I haven't really felt much today. I had a great day, don't get me wrong. It was quiet, and relatively un eventful. I spent a good bit of time preparing paintings to be sent out tomorrow! The packages are adorable. I'll post pictures tomorrow. Good news for those of you who have purchased my paintings! They will be arriving shortly. Watercolors are easy to send because they dry so fast, but oils... I'm just now sending off oil paintings that I painted a month ago! But, oil paints are so beautiful, it's worth the wait.

I painted this painting while eating dinner, watching Monk, talking with my husband, and playing with my baby. It's a little more abstract than the paintings I've been posting so far, but its a style I really love creating. It is an oil landscape of fields, water, grass, trees, sky, and whatever else you can see. I love that it's not really concrete; that I'm not telling you what's there, and exactly how you must look at it.

If you would like to be able to rework this painting in your mind endlessly, finding all the variations and hidden meanings, I suggest you go to my Etsy shop and buy it. Or, if you just thinks it's pretty and would totally match your decor, that's fine too.

Don't forget about the give-away! I'll be selecting a winner on May 1st (that's in a mere 16 days!) to receive an original oil painting. Tell all you friends!

Painting #19 Garden Observation II

The painting of the day... another Garden Observation. I have a slight twinge of guilt. I was going to start working on more commission pieces today, but I went outside this morning and was greeted by bushes and bushes of camellias. They are so beautiful right now! I promise, I’ll start working on the many wonderful commission photographs I’ve received on Monday. If you have a photograph you would like me to paint, please email it to me!  But for now, I present to you "Garden Observation II".  It is a 10x8.25 inch oil painting.
This painting will be listed on my Etsy page for $19.00! EmilyJeffords.etsy.com or, you can email me to claim this painting.

You must come back tomorrow afternoon to see the new line of collages I am featuring!

Painting #12 "Garden Observation I" an Oil Painting

Normally the fact that I’m charging so little for these paintings doesn’t bother me. I am just thrilled that people like my work and hope you will keep coming back for more! But this painting is different. I’m not really sure why… Maybe it’s the fact that I would normally sell this painting for at least $100. And I really like it. I love flowers! The house we are in right now has gardens all around it and a huge variety of flowers! It’s so much fun for me, as an artist.  I’m sure you will be seeing several more Garden Observations in the months to come!
This is a 6.25 x 9.5 inches oil painting of a beautiful pale pink blossom. Again… I don’t know what kind it is. Any ideas? This painting is being listed on day 12, and therefore will be sold for $12.00! What a steal! If you live in Greenville, and are willing to pick up this painting, I will wave the $8 shipping fee. If you would like to buy this painting email me!

The first person to email me wins!
As always, I love your comments and suggestions on this painting and others!
